Located between the huge countries of India and China, Nepal is among the poorest and least developed countries in the world with 46% of its population living below the poverty line.

  • More then 30,000 children die every year, lacking of proper medical care.
  • 72% of woman 15 years or older are illiterate.
  • Out of 2 million disable people, among them 5% are children.
  • 3 million Children are engaged in different sector of child labor.
  • At least 47,000 children are bonded laborers.
  • Over 8,000 children are working and living on the streets.
  • 450 pregnant mothers out of 100,000 die in childbirth every year.
  • Annually 17,500 woman and children are trafficked to India and gulf countries.
  • 32% of marriages are children under 15 years of age.
  • About 250 children are in adult jails.
  • There is only one children’s Hospital in country.
